312: Princess Diaries

One movie that will never ever get old and all the jokes will continue to be hilarious. Now, fun fact, when I first saw this movie in theaters it was with my mom's friend--we miss and love you Brenda, rest in peace--and her daughter. I was leaning forward in the seat with my chin resting on my arms that were on the backs of vacant seats in front of me. During the part when she fell off the chair while trying to sit correctly, well I slid off my chair and onto the floor. My mom's friend was laughing so hard and I was confused as to what happened, but it really is funny when you think about it. Brand new movie and no indication that that was going to happen and bam. On the sticky, dirty floor of the movie theater. Julie Andrews is the vision of regal, poised and glamorous. I mean, who wouldn't want to be trained to be a Queen by her? She is a Queen. I'm sorry Beyonce lovers in the world, but Julie Andrews holds that title. If you haven't seen Sound of Music or

"As you wish." "That word. I do not think it means, what you think it means." (About inconceivable.) "The ROUS's, I don't believe they exist." "Well I wouldn't want to build a summer home here, but it is actually quite lovely." "Anyone want a Peanut?" "I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!" "I am Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die." I could keep going. There is honestly too many great lines in this movie to quote and we do it on a daily basis. If you haven't read the book by Cary Elwes about the behind the scenes and what it was like to work on and film the movie, you really should. You will watch the movie with a new appreciation and those little tidbits of information will make the experience amazing and hilarious. The part where he gets knocked out outside the Fire Swamp by the six fingered man, he actually got knocked out! If you watch it, that was the scene t

Such a cute movie! The songs are catchy, especially the 'Going Down the Bayou', I love that song too much. I love Raymond when he tells his great grandma to turn her light on. The clapper? Genius and funny. No matter where you are in life, if you are Tiana or you are Naveen you will learn something from this movie. Working hard is important and you shouldn't always just be taking the easy way, but then taking a break and learning that working hard and work is not everything, love and other things are too. You get two sides of the coin and it's great that they find love in each other as their journey goes. It was funny, while I was watching this, I was cooking dinner and my mom comes home from work and the end part where she crushes the necklace and the friends from the other side come to take him. I sang, "Are you ready??" and I was early and she was confused and then they sang it on the screen and it dawned on her. It was pretty funny, at least to me.

First thing, if you haven't played the video games...you need to do that now. Yes I know, they are mainly on older systems, like the original Playstation and Xbox, but just trust me. They are amazing and when they came out with this movie, I actually loved it. I know that a lot of people didn't like it, there was an issue with who they chose to play Dustan, but I don't care. I think he was perfect and I love how they got it to feel like the moments in the game with all the parkour. The music was spot on. Honestly I love this movie a freaking lot. I wish it had done well enough for them to continue Dustan's adventures and go further into the video game storylines, but sadly it won't happen. I do have to say that it makes me want to play all of the games now. Hm...maybe that will be my next stream, now the question is, I think I have to stream from a camera from my Playstation 2! Or I could just download the Playstation Now and play them. I will have to figure

Years have passed since I have first seen this movie. At first I didn't like it when I was younger and now I mean...it is okay, it is cute, but I have honestly seen better movies. If I want to watch a Julia Styles movie I will watch 10 Things I Hate About You, she plays that kind of character really well. Even though she isn't such a teenager who hates the world in this movie. Just more of someone who is driven and knows what she wants and doesn't want, love takes a backseat to her goals. Then you get someone who is all about frivolity, irresponsibility, and constantly needing to find himself. I do like the down to earth, country side bit of it and some of the lessons learned by both Paige and Eddie. I am deeply contemplating keeping it or just giving it to my mom. She will like it better than me, it is her type of movie more than mine and if I want to watch it again, I will just watch it with her or borrow it. Prince & Me is just not really....for me. You know?

307: Priest

I honestly really love this movie. I was initially brought to it because of Karl Urban. Bad guy western Vampire, that used to be a Priest. Then I realized just how many people I know in this and the storyline just made me love it. Also, those weapons, watching the behind the scenes was cool. With Paul explaining his favorite weapon was his blade that splits into two. I agree whole heartedly. It was also cool to watch them explain how they did the bikes for the movie, as someone who grew up in cars. Sad that all that training to ride it didn't help once they went out into the desert and had to drive it on different terrain. Training wheels. Funny but sad that that had to happen. The way that vampires are handled in this movie, is not romanticized like in other films. Even though Underworld is the same line as this one, you just don't get very many changes in how vampires are portrayed in horror films. Even the fact of a human vampire is new and never been done until Black

I have never seen the original movies, I have only seen Austenland and this. I haven't even read a Jane Austen book, but I do have a Jane Austen collection from Barnes and Noble in my pile of to read. You know, the really fancy hardcovers that are huge? Yeah, that collection. I do really like this movie though and I love this Darcy. I don't know how I would like the other Darcy's without their leather duster, swords, brooding and zombie killing. I'm sorry, but I love the guy who plays this Darcy. He also happened to play the Crow in Maleficent and I loved him in that too. I am also insanely jealous of how Lily James looks. She is so beautiful, her hair, the clothes she gets to wear and elegantly fighting like a badass. I want to be Elizabeth Bennett from this movie. Maybe for Halloween one year or this year....hmmm...we shall see. Either way, I love this movie. I didn't used to like zombie movies, they scared me, but Walking Dead nipped that in the bud after

305: Premonition

Okay, second time seeing this movie. It has been 11 years since then and since it came out. I have to say, this movie is good but it is emotionally and mentally taxing. We are giving this movie away because we can't go through it again. Sandra does an amazing job of going through the stages of grief, confusion, and all around chaos of having her days shuffled around to piece together how to stop the death of her husband from happening. I mean along the way she finds out that he was going to cheat on her, that her marriage wasn't what it was and what she wanted. But she found out just what was worth fighting for. I have had my own experience like she did, where a loved one of mine had come to me in a dream to tell me they were going to die. Thankfully it wasn't like what she went through and I don't think I could go through that. But most of the time, you see, read or hear others who have premonition dreams that tell of disasters or people dying close to you. The

It has been a long time since I have seen this movie. I mean since I was little, maybe 7. My mom loves this movie and even owned (still does) the soundtrack to it. I remember how stinking cute the little boy was and that was pretty much it. Now that I am older, I have to say that it is pretty cute, cozy and a nice reminder to never be afraid to ask for help and always look around and remember what you have. Take care of yourself from time to time and your family, don't lose sight of it while you are busy helping others. I do love that they are just a very helping, loving family, especially being a Preacher and living in the church. I think my favorite line in this is when Henry throws the angel handbook in the fire and Dudley looks at him. "You're in trouble." Kind of like a little kid saying it, dragging it out. "It wasn't a sign that there was a new pope." "I DIDN'T DO IT!" Yelling at the ceiling. Oh man. I died. Dudley is funny. W

303: Practical Magic

I grew up on this movie. It is one of my mom's favorite's, it was my first introduction to Faith Hill and I wanted to find someone just as great as Sally did. Both times! I even remember making my own little thing when I was little, about a guy to meet in the future. Sadly, it hasn't happened....yet. ;) I will say that I find it harder to watch this movie now that I am older. I am a person who believes in the spiritual, have friends who are Wiccan, etc, and am myself a Medium. I have ancestors that were gypsies, I have relatives that have gifts and it has passed through generation to generation. I am not trying to push any beliefs on anyone. I am just saying that this movie, I now longer watch at night, there is a feel to it during the parts of exorcism and possession that I don't like. I do still love it and will watch it, just definitely during the day time when it has last power to it. This movie will be a staple in my childhood. Midnight Margaritas in the m

302: Polar Express

As you can see, I have been slacking. I haven't been watching a movie every day and I also haven't been posting every day. I knew that this would happen at some point, I hoped it wouldn't, but it did. I am still watching, I am just slower now. Ha, ha. I need to get back on point. Been busy with other aspects of life and that is fine. Anyways.... Polar Express! I honestly liked Tom Hanks from You've Got Mail and then watching this, he is just a great actor. The behind the scenes, being the conductor, the hobo, Santa and the little boy--even though the voice was an actual little kid and every now and then Josh Hutchinson would step in as the little boy when he was someone else--still pretty cool that they did that. I vaguely remember seeing the book when I was in Elementary school, in the library. The cover of it looks so familiar and I am sure that it was read to my class in some grade. Even though it isn't Christmas, this is still a cute and cozy movie to wat

So this movie was pretty appropriate while I was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I took a break to refuel and rest my brain. With this movie being about video games, it just made me want to jump back in and play some more. I know that this movie didn't do well when it came out, but I honestly love it. The classic video games come to life in a hilarious way and even a cool way. Playing Pac-Man through the streets of New York, Centipede in a soccer field and then Donkey Kong...well in a spaceship. I think to really enjoy this movie, you have to have some knowledge of video games or have played them at some point in your life. That is my opinion though. I grew up playing video games, my main one was Crash Bandicoot and then we had a Nintendo64 and played 007 all the time and Mario Kart. I even had a friend in Elementary school who had Pac-Man the arcade game in his basement! I was so jealous. I loved going to the movie theaters near my house and playing all the arcade games

I am so far behind! My life has been completely taken over by the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so I have been streaming that on my Twitch and playing for hours on end. I also went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday and got heat exhaustion. Was going to watch the next movie, but was so tired and not in the mood for it. But now I am sort of on a break from the game...at least for the next hour possibly...to finish writing this and the next movie in line that I have watched. Anyways... You can really tell that this is an early 2000 movie with the special FX, that is necessarily a bad thing in the sense that it is still good and was good when it came out. Movies have only gotten better with that kind of thing. Also I mean come on, Vin rocks this movie. I still like the sequel better than this one, I can't explain why, maybe it has to do with the touch more humanity riding within him in that one compared to this one. I mean this is the start of learning who he is and

The ONLY Pirates of the Caribbean movie that we haven't seen. We are behind. Honestly, this movie was good, but not amazing like its predecessors. I think Johnny maybe had a little of Mad Hatter in his way of acting as Jack, that he didn't have before, and it kind of bugged me. He was still Jack, there was just another something something in there that didn't belong. I did however, love Captain Salazar. He was so good, I mean it was a little distracting with his mouth with the black leaking out and my mom was distracted by his hair until I told her why it was doing that. As if he was still under water. But he was great and I had no idea that he was on the set of Stranger Tides for his wife Penelope and then got asked to be on this one, until I saw the behind the scenes. Funny how things turn out. There was plenty of humor in this one and that was great, it was not lacking in it and the movies are great with humor. I laughed pretty hard when Jack was spinning with his

Wait...NO WILL? NO ELIZABETH? Ha, ha. That's fine. ;) Really, at least I can speak for myself, I come to see Pirates of the Caribbean for Jack Sparrow. It's weird to see Barbossa on the side of the British though, high rank, all fancied up and without a leg. He even lost the Pearl!! Not cool man. I completely understand how Jack felt when he wanted to throttle him before the Duke's men held him back. I think my favorite part of this movie is the fact that they added Mermaids. You know how much I love mermaids! I even have a statue now. I love that this holds more true to the Mermaid mythology and stories, showing that yes they are beautiful, but they are forces to be reckoned with. Just look at how they took down that whole ship that Barbossa had to say was, "Seagulls, nesting." Penelope Cruz is great in this movie, hilarious and beautiful and also Black Beard's daughter. We have had 3 pirate villains now and I have to think which one is my favorite so

297: Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - At World's End

Image
Here we go! The end result to Davy Jones and the East India Trading Company. I literally had the song, "Hoist the Colours" in my head the rest of the night and even the next day. Yes, I am behind on my posts, but I have been watching the movies. I guess I wanted to complete the Pirates movies before finishing and I have been busy creating videos and stuff for my Youtube channel! Anyways, movie. I love that Barbossa is back! He is hilarious and has great repartee with Jack on how to sail the Black Pearl. Then also Jack is back and Will realizes that she never loved Jack. *rolls eyes* It would have been easier if they had spoken, but whatever. You really feel more for Davy Jones in this movie though. Even without his heart, he can still feel and you can tell that surprises him when he sheds a tear and gets angry from being able to still feel. Again, Elizabeth comes into her own and holds her own! I mean Pirate King! Captain! Being a big part of negotiations in Singapore.

296: Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - Dead Man's Chest

The adventure continues!! It just gets better and better and this time Jack is in more trouble than he was with Barbossa. After only being a captain of the Black Pearl, he still has been calling himself Captain Jack Sparrow and must pay his debt to Davy Jones for giving him the Pearl. Also Elizabeth and William are outlaws. I love watching Elizabeth grow though, since she really is a modern woman in a not so modern time period. More and more you can see that she doesn't need to be saved and actually sets out to save Will and Jack. Are they grateful? Maybe, but I don't think they really realized all that she went through. Then the part with Jack being the God trapped in a human body on that island....and the skull cage swinging...more and more humor is added into the movies as they go on. Everyone knows the, "I've got a jar of dirt, I've got a jar of dirt, and guess what's inside it?" Compared to the curse of Mayan gold, I think Davy Jones and the

I have seen this movie so many times. I quote it while watching and just out in life, I love the soundtrack. It is on my iPod. Let me tell you, you haven't lived an adventure until you are blasting the music from when Elizabeth is being jostled around my skeletal pirates on the Black Pearl, going through a canyon at 80 mph next to a freaking semi, coming down a hill. Yes. I will never forget that trip and neither will my mom. We were kind of laughing with how it was matching up very well with what was going on around us. When this first came out, I remember everyone loved Orlando Bloom. I was the one who loved Johnny Depp in this movie out of all my friends and classmates. Watching this again, especially since right now I am playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag, it made me want to play that game and in turn when I was playing that game I wanted to watch this movie. Thankfully it all coincided. I have never been to Disneyland and been on that ride, I have only been to Disn

The musical that started my love for musicals. My grandma had this movie on VHS growing up and the tape and we would listen to it while we cooked and hung out. This will always be my favorite musical and I need to see it on the stage badly. Kevin Cline is so perfect as The Pirate King, but man he was so hyper and agile in this. How they didn't just crack up on the stage with him is beyond me. I wish I could sing as high as Maybel, but I am an alto and sometimes second soprano. I remember showing this movie to my friends before I moved to Minnesota, knowing that one friend would love Kevin Cline and the other would love the Policemen. After the movie they couldn't stop singing the Foreman Bares His Steel song and thinking about how gangly they moved. I do own the CD to this and whenever it comes on in my car on my iPod, I have to sing along. Even when my mom is giving me a look that says she wants to listen to 'normal' music. Her favorite song is Poor Wandering On

293: Pink Panther 2

Image
To be honest, I didn't like this one as much as the first. It was funny and had more physical comedy than the previous one, but I felt like they were trying too hard. I remember why I haven't seen this movie since it came out in 2009 and it just is sub par. It also doesn't make sense how the Pink Panther diamond was just written off as being in the possession of Beyonce's character. I mean yeah they could have said that she donated it because it held so much meaning to France, but they didn't even do that. *shakes head* I mean it was okay, I won't ever watch it again and neither will my mom, so we are putting it in the pile to get rid of. Tori M.

292: Pink Panther

Image
Inspector Clouseau played by Steve Martin is just a riot. I grew up watching the cartoons and still love watching them on Boomerang. The fact that he never catches the pink panther, kind of the same relationship as Sylvester/Tweety Bird, Wiley Coyote/Roadrunner, Tom/Jerry, Elmer Fudd/Bugs Bunny. Even though in this movie, the pink panther is a diamond in the real world. There is really so many innuendos in this that makes it hilarious for the adults and then just ridiculous mayhem that he causes fun for everyone. I don't think you can have Steve Martin in a movie and not have some innuendo within. The one thing that my mom and I quote the most from this movie is when he is learning how to say, "I would like to buy a hamburger." It has been some time since we have seen this though and even forgot how much I used to love the song Check On It by Beyonce that she made a video for this. Still know the lyrics!! In the end he proves that yes, he is an idiot, but he is a

When this came out, I remember it clearly. It was my birthday, we went to a place called The Mayan for dinner--no longer in business, but it was really cool--then went to see this is IMAX. Not many people were there to see I remember, but we all went as a family and I loved this. I still do, it is definitely one of my top favorite movies/musicals. I have yet to see the musical on stage. Hope to some day. This was also my first introduction to Gerard Butler and I had the hugest crush on him from this movie. I never understood why Christine went for Raul compared to him, I would have chosen him at the drop of a hat. I do have to say that there is one moment in the cemetery when they are fighting in the snow, that Raul looks like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast as a human. He would've made a good one. It still gives me chills hearing the opening music and watching the chandelier come to life at the beginning. My favorite song has to be Point of No Return, the passion, darkn
