310: Princess and the Frog




Such a cute movie! The songs are catchy, especially the 'Going Down the Bayou', I love that song too much. I love Raymond when he tells his great grandma to turn her light on. The clapper? Genius and funny. No matter where you are in life, if you are Tiana or you are Naveen you will learn something from this movie. Working hard is important and you shouldn't always just be taking the easy way, but then taking a break and learning that working hard and work is not everything, love and other things are too. You get two sides of the coin and it's great that they find love in each other as their journey goes.

It was funny, while I was watching this, I was cooking dinner and my mom comes home from work and the end part where she crushes the necklace and the friends from the other side come to take him. I sang, "Are you ready??" and I was early and she was confused and then they sang it on the screen and it dawned on her. It was pretty funny, at least to me.

Just remember, frogs are not slimey. "It's mucus!"

168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
