343: Series of Unfortunate Events




It has been some time since I have seen this. I have really only one thing to say after watching the Netflix original series...the Netflix series is WAYYYYY better. I'm sorry Jim Carrey, but they really nailed it on the head with how it was executed and actually doing the rest of the books. The movie is too rushed in how they are cramming three books into one film, going out of order. Not cool. It is funny, however, that his neighbor Justice winds up in the Netflix series as the evil optometrist. I mean the movie is pretty good and there are similarities. They got the feel pretty much exactly the same in the darkness, the kind of illustration like scenery. It does bother me that the person who handles their affairs doesn't cough a lot like he does in the books/show.

I could nitpick this all day when compared to the books and the show, so that is why even though it is good...it is just not the Netflix show good. It is going into the giveaway pile.

Last and final mass movie post! I finally did it guys/gals, I completed my movie goal today!!!! I can't believe that I watched 461 movies in one year! I also can't believe I own that many movies! 168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
