330: Rocketman




I have run into people who have not seen this, people who are older than me or my age...How?! How can you not have seen this? Him singing that he he's got the whole world in his hands, mentioning that the world is a giant blueberry, all those NASA trials he went through. That poor other guy who nearly went crazy in isolation because of him and joined the guy they were going to replace with multiple injuries. The one scene I have always remembered when I think of this movie is when they are finally in space, travelling and he has to make the dinner tubes. The monkey changes them around and they wind up getting toothpaste, hemorrhoid cream and a laxative.

Or even when he is awake for 8 months in space, because the monkey stole his full size sleeping chamber. *shakes head*

Go and watch this if you haven't seen it! Highly recommend. Such a classic.

168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
