266: My Cousin Vinny

My mom and my brother would always quote this movie growing up, I had no idea what they were talking about and why they loved it so much until I finally saw it some years ago. Honestly, Vinny is a great lawyer especially in the court room. At first he doesn't really know what he is doing, but with the help of his fiance Lisa he understands more about trials and how they need to run. Not knowing that it is the law to share evidence, witnesses and files with the other lawyer was a big one that he found out from her, because she actually read the book! He has a great way of finding evidence in his everyday life, by accident. The grits, finding out how long those take to cook. Basically tearing apart every witness account on the car and the people, by taking the time to go there, take pictures...with his fiance's pink camera...and having his own expert witness perfect for the very case he is working on, just because she is his fiance.

If you haven't seen this movie and love a good comedy, I highly recommend this movie. I mean come on, Vinny did it way before Elle Woods and it took him 6 years to pass his bar exam and he has only been practicing for 6 weeks.

168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
