176: Hotel Transylvania 2




Little Dennis!!!! Oh my goodness, I don't know if you can get any cuter than little Dennisovich and Winnie. Throughout this whole movie they are trying to get his fangs to sprout and to figure out how to raise him. Human or monster? Dracula is up to his antics with his pals this time and I love how through it all, Dennis is always going to be the sweetest, kindest little boy, even when he does finally get his fangs! I do actually like this movie more than the first one, I think it is because of Dennis that I do. He is just SO cute! Sometimes babies make something great, Dennis happens to be in that sometime. :)

There are hard times though in this movie with Mavis wanting to leave Transylvania and move to Santa Cruz to raise Dennis. Wanting a 'normal' live for him and I think she still yearns for that herself. I know she loves her dad and the castle, but I can't help feeling that she kind of resents it. When she goes on vacation with Johnny to where he grew up in the human world, she kind of gets it first hand of how fun it can be...but also how harsh it can be. Everyone loves the Hotel and being around the monsters, well everyone but Johnny's family and even then that changes at the end. I honestly can't wait to see the 3rd one when it comes out soon, to resume the adventure and maybe find a happy ending for Dracula now that Mavis has Johnny and Dennis.

Last and final mass movie post! I finally did it guys/gals, I completed my movie goal today!!!! I can't believe that I watched 461 movies in one year! I also can't believe I own that many movies! 168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
