137: Godzilla



I have never seen Godzilla, any of the movies EVER. Until now. The giant King of Monsters has been revived for the new age. It was a good movie, but I am really glad that this movie is my mom's. I personally would have rather watched Jurassic Park if I am going to watch a giant beast fight with other beasts. You know? I would not go out of my way to watch this again, but I will say that there was no flaw with the movie. The movie was good, I am just not into Godzilla. I am not really into the whole story. That is JUST ME people. Just me. So what I write here is not a bashing, just kind of eh in my own opinion. Not everyone likes the same movies, that is fine. We have proved that with people not liking Daredevil, Batman & Robin, etc, and some people liking that. I admit that Godzilla was very cool with how he looked, but the other things made me think of Stranger Things a little.

To me the movie was nothing new and I am fine with not loving it. I like it, think it is good, but I can now move on. Ha, ha. I am ready for the next movie, but I can say that I have seen Godzilla now rather than just knowing about it.

168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
