129: Ghostbusters 2



So I guess with blogging, you just talk. Well I don't know about you but who else saw this when they were little and got freaked out? I mean that scene where she puts her baby in the bathtub filling with ectoplasmic goop. Now I haven't seen this in a long time. I mean I haven't seen this since I was maybe 6 or so. Not even in the teens. All I know is that it disturbed me and my mom, but my mom loves Ghostbusters and got the collection of the two bundled up.

I remember the gist of the movie, so re-watching it this time now that I am 25...older...maybe wiser...maybe my opinion of it will change, then again maybe that guy in the painting who wants to steal her baby will always be creepy. So for now I am going to save this post and then pop on down below this for my review of it once I am done watching it. *presses play*



After:

 Well not as good as the first, with the memorable quotes, but you know it holds its own. They got scarier with the ghosts and I forgot some moments like the statue of liberty coming to life. The music from the first is better, while this one was more funk/hip hop related. But you know all in all, being older, I actually liked it. I could definitely see how that made me scared when I was little. Glad that this one is my mom's though, I could watch it again but that is if I really wanted to. Another movie and more ghost titles to go!!!

168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. 327: Riddick

Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
