278: Nightmare Before Christmas




I watched this yesterday and I am going to write this really quick, because I am really not feeling well. I watched this...my favorite movie and you know what happened? I fell a-freaking-sleep. I got up to the part where he was riding into town with Christmas stuff and ready for a town meeting to introduce everyone to the magic of he new holiday he discovered. Yep, then bam. Out. The one movie that is my favorite and I can quote it while watching it, do the different voices and know every little thing about...and I fall asleep. I guess that I'm sort of glad that it was this movie and not something I haven't seen as much, but still. I'm sad.

Thankfully I know this movie by heart. I am so obsessed with this movie, I have figures, I have clothing, I have artwork, and I even have a sticker on my car window of Jack's face. Someday I will deck out my car with Nightmare Before Christmas and there is still so much that I want, I saw some great things over at Box Lunch last week and intend on saving up to get them. There is just something about this movie that I have always loved, "so hard to put my bony finger on." Halloween is my favorite holiday and I know that this movie has a big part of making that so when I was young.

The music is also something I will forever have embedded into my heart and head. Whether it is the lyrics or the instrumental tracks. I know it all and love it all. Like Jack said, "I know the Christmas Carols all by heart, my skull's so full it's tearing me apart." That song, Jack's Obsession and Town Meeting are my two favorite songs. Before we know it...Halloween will be upon us. How many days left to go? Definitely not 364. ;)

Last and final mass movie post! I finally did it guys/gals, I completed my movie goal today!!!! I can't believe that I watched 461 movies in one year! I also can't believe I own that many movies! 168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
