140: Goonies



"HEY YOU GUYYYSSS!"

I watched this last night, but went straight to bed because I was tired. Still trying to get over this nasty virus. It has been 2 freaking weeks. I am ready for it to be over, but it is lingering. Anyways, Goonies...It has been some time since I have seen it and I could've sworn there was a giant octopus where the pirate ship was in that cave but that might have been a different movie that I cannot recall. This movie is still a classic, has an Indiana Jones vibe to it when they are going through the tunnels filled with booby traps, or as Data says "Booty Traps. That's what I said, Booby Traps." While watching I couldn't help but notice that the word "guys" was a very popular word throughout it, used in many different ways. "Hey guys", "Hey you guys", "Guys", "Come on guys", etc. It got kind of funny along the way of noticing it, I bet one of you out there is going to find that a good drinking game.

I forgot how good this movies was and when they rolled the credits to Good Enough by Cyndi Lauper, my mom and I couldn't get it out of our heads the rest of the night. It is even still in my head now as I am writing this. Well I just woke up due to my cat scratching at the door wanting some love and I should head downstairs to chill out on the couch like I have been doing for 2 weeks and take some Dayquil. Hopefully I can get better before the work week starts up tomorrow.

Last and final mass movie post! I finally did it guys/gals, I completed my movie goal today!!!! I can't believe that I watched 461 movies in one year! I also can't believe I own that many movies! 168: Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies

First off...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! Now I can get into the movie. This is my 2nd time seeing this one and I forgot that two people died at the end and not just Kili. I mean I cried, I cried really hard when the Elf King told her the reason why it hurt so much was because her love for him was real. My big emotional scale through this movie was, anxiety from all the battle going on, to "come on Thorin, get your head out of your ass", to "YAY THORIN IS BACK", to back heartbreak at the death of Fili, Kili and Thorin, to glad the war was over and Bilbo could go home...of course only to find out his personal effects were being auctioned off. I mean I know there is a lot of CGI in this movie and this one is my least favorite, but not because of that reasoning that is so many others'. Back to basics. To the animal side. The Furian side. Let's be honest here, the dog stole the show. We all want Riddick's dog, that one, not his brother or his sister, that dog. Now that that is cleared up, I do like that they went back to the rated R that this movie is and deserves. Yeah I do love the Chronicles of Riddick movie, a lot and it is my favorite, but there is something lacking. With this you also get the whole survival of the fittest, lone wolf, in the middle of nowhere man trying to find his home and who he is again. It also wouldn't be Riddick without throwing it back to the Pitch Black days. Aliens that come out in the cover of darkness or in this case, rain. Then you also get the father of the man who was being a douchebag in Pitch Black. You know, the one that wanted to kill the girl to save his own skin? Yeah that one. Glad to know that his father is a better man than he was, but kind of sad to watch him find out the horrible thing about his son.
